Twenty-two members of the Kirkcowan Autumn Club have enjoyed an outing to the Port William Inshore Rescue Lifeboat Service, PIRSAC. The trip was made possible thanks to the financial support of the Kirkcowan Community Development Trust.

For over 40 years, the PIRSAC crew have carried out rescues and calls for help from the Mull of Galloway to Burrowhead, Wigtown to Gatehouse of Fleet, and Wigtown Bay and to Luce Bay, covering a total of around 500 square sea miles. PIRSAC also provides valuable river support and aid at local water-based activities around the coast.

The Autumn Club trip included a very informative and interesting talk by two of the crew members. This was followed by a visit to the View Cafe for tea, coffee and a magnificent spread of scones, cakes and traybakes.
