With the help of KCDT, Kirkcowan Gala Committee has set up and run a monthly Bingo session in the Village Hall since December 2021. Due to the Covid pandemic the following month’s session was cancelled but Bingo has successfully been held every month since then, with members of the public travelling from all over the local area to attend.
Since it began, the Bingo organisers have handed out donations of over £1,600. Part of the funds were used for the successful event held by the village to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee. Funding has also been given to the Cluster Primary School group of Kirkcowan and Wigtown, including the nurseries at both locations. Donations have been used towards Christmas events and the creation of a fairy garden.
